Fieldwork

PCATI employs one fieldworker, who receives information about detainees, interrogees and victims of violence and investigates it, while also maintaining regular contact with their families. Following the complainants’ release, our fieldworker provides support and guidance, and, where needed, refers them to rehabilitation professionals.

Fieldwork often involves the work of our legal departments. Our lawyers locate the facilities where detainees and interrogees are held, visit various prisons and interrogation centers, collect affidavits from Israeli and Palestinian victims, and accompany them in their dealings with the authorities when filing their complaints and giving their testimony.

PCATI also operates the Community Police Dialogue Project , working with activists and communities in Israel that are over-policed and regularly exposed to police brutality.
