A conference was held the Israeli Medical Association to conclude two years of training courses on the Istanbul Protocol and for a discussion of its implementation in Israel. The IMA invited all its members to the event. Sixty men and women came, mostly medical professionals (including directors of hospital departments), but also representatives of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Justice, the National Forensic Medicine Center at Abu-Kabir and the Public Defender’s Office.
Attendees to the conference heard from Chairman of the Israeli Medical Association Dr. Leonid Idelman and from Chairman of the Public Committee Against Torture Tami Molad-Hayo. Additional lectures were given by Professor Yuval Shani, Dr. Bettina Birmans-Steiner, Dr. Itzhak Ziv Ner and Atty. Alona Korman.
