PCATI's lawyers Elihu Abram and Feda Kuwar, demand for immediate improvement of the conditions of detention in the cells of the military courts.

From the testimonies of many detainees who were kept in detention while waiting for proceedings regarding their cases in military courts to take place, and also from observation and personal findings of the undersigned, a picture emerges of inhumane and inappropriate conditions of detention.

The detainees are kept in cells adjacent to the courtrooms, generally from 8.30 or 9.00 a.m. until the end of the day’s proceedings, which generally is about 4:00 p.m. though sometimes the detainees are held for longer periods of time. Many of these long hours are passed in suffering and humiliation.
